Could someone let me know how to find the website that shows how to shim up the ball on the mirror to keep it from sagging. I saw it in illustration form and can not remember where I saw it and how the shim went in. I already have the mirror off, but want to install shim right, so i won't have to do this again. Driving me nuts.
I CAN SLEEP TONIGHT I SCREWED IT UP ALREADY I GROUND OUT
ONE RIVET AND TRIED TO PUT A SCREW IN THE RIVET HOLE IT DID NOT WORK HAVE TO GET CREATIVE ANY IDEAS???
Use the JB weld to make a new "rivet" so to speak. Smush it in where the old one was and reassemble before it sets up as the link explained. Or you may just need to replace the mirror.

same problem, fiddled with it shimmed wahsered, wadded up piece of paper ..........
I used a small shim cut from a bicycle inner tube. Now the mirror stays where you put it, doesn't squeek, and I was able to leave a bit of bubba for the next owner to find
