I was talking to one of the firefighters I work with tonight and he has a Trans-Am that he puts in shows. He was telling me that he got on a sight that for $35.00 he got a copy of the window sticker, pictures of the car coming off the line, and other cool information . Is there a sight for corvettes that I can get these things for my car. I'd like to know how many were in this two tone color, and other info.
Pontiac owners are lucky that the build sheets were not "lost" many years ago like the Chevy ones. There is a company call Pontiac Historical (?) Services which can search for any Pontiac build sheet and sell you a copy of the original. The build sheet for Vettes which were built at Bowling Green is available from the Museum. The shipping docket for Vettes from '77 on is available from another company. Do a search in the archives and the name will pop up.
GM records for the 68-78 models do not exist. You will have to rely upon original documentation with the car or from previous owners.
For some 79-81 models, an outfit called Allied-Vaughn was hired by GM to microfiche dealer invoices. If A-V has your VIN in their records, you can get a copy of the dealer invoice for your car.
For most of the Bowling Green cars, you can get a copy of the build sheet from the NCM.
