I was reading an atricle this evening and in the body of the text, It stated that they believed that the vehicle was a true 36, 389. I have never heard this term before. Anyone know what this gentleman was talking about....
I was reading a sale article at US Corvettes oout of Huntington Beach, CA and they have a 72, 4 speed they said that they believe is a 36, 889. I just had never seen that before and was curious.

I had misread the thread title.
Could that maybe be VIN codes or block casting numbers?

Micheal Monclief. DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THE AD SAYS. This guy has a reputation on the forum and I haven't heard any worse horror stories here than the few I have heard about his business, which I think is on it's third name. Buyer Beware!!!
Tinhorse,
I think I'd tend to agree with Kevin on this. I didn't know USCorvettes and M.M. were one and the same.
The car definately does not look like an original 36k car. It used to be Elkhart green and a poor painter has painted over the entire side grills, the tail pipes are jaboni, it has a standard interior but someone has put home made lower door trim and carpet as well as armrest patch panels on the door panels, the upper seatbelt pass through bezels are either installed on the wrong sides or the seats have been switched from side to side, if it's a true 36k California car why doesn't it still have blue plates?
Too many "ifs" on this one and the seller's reputation is less than stellar.
Good luck,
Greg
