I have a '69 corvette that doesn't have the rear letters on it.
I have purchased the letters, but don't have a template or dimensions for where to drill the holes.
Does anyone have a template or dimensions they could send me please?
I have checked my AIM but nothing with spacings or dimensions etc.
Thank you,
From the left of the 'C' to the right of the 'E' ... total width is 15.125" (15 1/8") and is just slightly longer than the license bezel (about a 1/4" on the left and 1/4" on the right)
The bottom of the 'R', middle 'E' and 'T' are all exactly 2.625" (2 5/8") above the top of the chrome license bezel.
These dimensions are from my 1969 coupe, November 1968 build.

The info is not in the AIM because the holes were in the panel when the panel was received from the vendor. Body shop folks did not have to drill the holes.
If your rear panel is stock, you might be able to locate the original holes from the backside.
I have this same problem, I repainted my car and tried to grind that area down to locate the holes but someone did a good job of hiding them so i was just killing my fiberglass, if anyone has therer car stripped down and could make a pattern of the holes we would appreciate it.
Well i'm back from the shop and this is what I came up with.
I cleaned the holes, had a helper hold a manilla folder flush and tight against back, and sprayed front.
So, I scanned it into two halves, and put marks on each side so you can cut and line up each half after you print each out. Actually I can rescan it with a ruler layed with it, just to be extra sure or something like that if needed.
I hope this helps, if not, can try a different method...let me know.
Send me PM with an e-mail address to send scans to.
This is what it looks like whole, I overlapped scans so you can match each side up.
I Just Wanted To Thank You For Putting Together That Pattern, I Just Drilled All The Holes In The Back Of The Car And Put The Letters On And I Am Very Happy That It Looks Great. I Did Have To Blow It Up On The Copy Machine A Little But It Turned Out Real Good. Again Thanks, Corvette Forum Rocks
I just love it when people help each other. I've been worried how to do this for a long time. Please send me a copy at millermilitary2000@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Perry

I'm glad it worked, I was still thinking about it last night, if there is a better method to transpose a template, that could be more accurate, short of sending something via postal mail.
I wasn't sure how it would print out and couldn't test it, since I ran out of ink on my printer, but scanning/copying I figured it would retain it's size when printed, long as the printer don't try to 'fit to page' or alter size when printing.
make sure you make two level lines for top & bottom of the letters, with a wax pencil as well so all letters are on the exact plane. Make several templates from your print out and cut out the holes first, tape it to the car in position, use the wax pencil to mark all your hole locations BEFORE you start drillong holes to make sure all is ligned up correctly.
