I have rebuild the regulator in my drivers door, and am almost ready to put it back in, but whaty bothers me is the spring. Do you have to tension the spring in anyway? the spring dosnt give much push for half of the travel of the scissors...
I can provide pictures if that will help...
thanks!
You are suppose to position the regulator on full up befroe putting the spring on. Then install the spring. The spring helps the window go up not down. The theory is the power window motor and weight of the window will coil the spring as the window is lowered. The coiled spring then helps the window rise as you power it up.
If you are not taking off the power window motor. Plug it into the existing wiring and use the switch to power the regulator to the up position. Stop when the regulator gear hits the last tooth on the power window motor. I got lazy and stopped 2-3 teeth short and my window will not go all the way up.
