hi guys, i'm doing things the hard way here, building a corvette one peice at a time anyway, ive got a 70's 350ci, and a 4 speed super t-10 to go behind it.
i was wondering if someone could tell me which bellhousings will bolt up between them. can i use ANY pre 85 bellhousing? i've heard that some wont clear the bearing housings on the BW gearbox. any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers

A stock GM bellhousing with the last 3 numbers "621" should bolt up fine to a Muncie and a BW super T-10.
hi, thanks for that. i see quite a few 621's for sale... there are also some 421's which seem to be quite a bit cheaper. i guess i cant use one of these?
Something else to consider is a blow-proof housing. Based on what you've said I'd guess at some point you may decide to run it on the strip and most sanctioning bodies are going to require one. On top of that a factory housing is hardly able to contain a blown clutch, if you were to explode a flywheel, well you might lose a foot...
They're not much more than an original housing and Summit or Jegs carry them to fit any application. For the peace of mind, I believe it's money well spent unless you're trying to keep it all original.

I believe the 421 & a couple other early bellhousings will work just fine as long as you use a 10 1/2" clutch. The 621 is required if you want to run a 11" clutch. Try a search over on w.chevell.com, lots of info there.
