Let me know how the fit is. I've been curious about and even almost ordered one until just making my own.

Will you have to remove the core to use it or will it allow the USE of the core and heater hoses?

I have used boxes from this company 2Xs before and they fit pretty good.
You use the heater core thats in the car now, they will come from underneath and have more room to put them where you want.
I'll take pics when I do it, which should be within a couple of week, Im waiting for a fan shroud before I start to tear the engine apart.

Do they have it now for Corvettes?
It says "Coming Soon 68-82 Y-Body (Corvette) " on the web page.

That will look so much better than just wacking the lines. I just hate to go to a car show and see a nice car but the a/c box and evaporator are still there but nothing else. To me remove it all or none. Don't leave it half done. My .02

I installed one of these about a week ago. It fit very well and is well made, not cheap and flimsy.

Yes, it's a Crane noise and spike suppressor. I'm using it for my Crane HI-6 cd ignition box.

The only thing I had to do was unbolt the old evaporator-blower box and bolt the new one on. I chose not to remount the fan speed resistors. My fan speed only works on high now which is ok with me. All I need is some occasional defrost and heat. You will have to drill the bolts holes in the new plate. It's very simple to install, just use some patience and be sure to drill the holes in the right spot. Your inside controls work the same as before minus the A/C. I only had one bolt that was on the inside under the dash, very easy to get to.

Well I took the air box off tonite and its a pain in the XXX, tore up the firewall a little.
I tried to fit the box to the firewall and I don't see how its going to fit without alot of cutting and fitting??????
My other two cars I used them on worked really good.

Sorry to hear that. I didn't have to cut anything, only drill some holes in the plate. It fit perfectly and I was very impressed that it did. Not many aftermarket parts will.

Here's my custom A/C delete plate. No, I cannot use the heater lines any more but I didn't plan to. I had already cut the heater core out of the loop.
