sorry I do mean on the rack. I've got the brackets and figured out they both mount to the center of the rack but no idea of which one goes which direction. Any pics of a set installed ?
im pretty sure that it dosent matter, it just puts a slight gap between them yle you drive so they dont clash, ill try to post a pic tonight, justa sec
Miles - thanks for the pic. I had guessed the right direction of the brackets just wasn't sure about the sliding forward part. I guess that makes sense.
re; the brackets, the one closest to the window needs to be the bracket that is angled, and angled towards the window, hooked to the luggage rack as far up the bar to the window as possible, the other brackets goes in between the 2 lower tabs on the lower side of the rack... then the tabs in the side of the t top that fit into the roof holes, will slip into the sides of the bracket in those holes and it holds them down better. the strap hooks onto the rack under the t tops and goes up around them. i found that the strap has a metal buckle that will chip the t tops so it's best to use some elctrical tape, or cut a black sock to slip over the buckle.
if you just put the brackets anywhere in the middle, it won't hold the tops securely because they wont fit into the mounting holes in the bracket.

Here is a pic of a rack designed to use with the brackets. The small pins locate the brackets and there are also a set of pins on each outer bar to locate the hold down strap.
