I want to the R134 switchover but its not real clear on the what is the "correct" O-Ring thickness and diameter that should be used for a given a/c connection.
My question: Is there a measurement out there that states that the different connections should have X diameter and Y thickness (for drier, evap, condsr. etc)?
Also is it true that the O-Rings should be dipped in R-12 mineral Oil before installing?
thanks
When converting my car to R134 I ordered a o-ring kit that contained all the correct green o-rings. I dont have all my records handy, but I think I ordered through doc rebuild. If not them, one or more of the other corvette shops carry this kit. It saved a lot of time trying to round up all the correct sizes at the local parts store. I was instructed to dip them in whatever oil you are using to lubricate your new system (that would be compatible with R134).
I have this Kit but there are some noticeable thickness differences amoung O-Rings with about the same diameter. The kit provides the actual measurements of the O-rings- that is why I was asking what size goes where.
