Default 78 Horn

The horn did not work when I purchased it. I found the horn contact spring assembly was missing. I was able to purchase the parts (spring, pin, insulator). The pin or insulator is a bayonet connection to a plastic piece in the hub, as soon as I secured it, pop the plastic piece broke. I have not been able to find the plastic piece. I would rather but just the plastic part rather then the hub. Any ideas?

No, the piece I am talking about is a tube. The pin slides down into it and then you turn it and the spring puts tension on it to secure it.

I just noticed that the little white tube is crscked on mine. Is it really necessary that I replce it. It is just broked a little at the top where it sticks out? Unless it is an easy and cheap fix.

This is the tube the pin and spring slide into.

This is the contact.I guess the black piece could be called a tube.

You may be right. I did not realize the tube connected to the lower horn contact. Makes sense now that I see it clearly.

If your horn works and the spring and pin are connected, I would think you good to go. On mine the pin would not stay in the tube.
