Hello everyone, I just bought my first vette. It is a 1977 L-82. I am hoping to find some good info on this site concerning details on the car as I am not very up to date on vettes. Dare I say I have always been a 65-70 mustang guy and wanted to broaden my horizons . I will post pics as soon as I load a few on the computer. I do have a question to start though... I was wondering how I may be able to fix my passenger side rear wheel alignment. The driver side looks ok but the passenger side has alot of negative camber. Any suggestions? I have not looked up info on the web yet. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forum. The rear strut rods controls the adjustment of the rear wheels. You will have to take it to the alignment shop to get it aligned. The strut rods have adjustments on them. Dont let bubba in the alignment shop bend the strut rods. Maybe they are already bent but you can look at them to see. Bubba bent mine on my 77. You will learn a lot about your car from these guys. No question is a stupid question so dont be afraid to ask.You need to fill out your profile information
Worn strut rod bushings are often causing this, the excentric bolt at the strut rod bracket only allows so much adjustment.... if your bushings are shot you might want to get some adjustable strut rods ($100 for the pair), keep the stock strut rods in a box for whenever you might sell the car....
also worn side yokes on the differential can cause negative camber. welcome to the madness. there is not near as much rust on theese cars as there is on old mustangs I had a '67 mustang and that thing was a rust bucket

my last mustang was a 65 289 vert and instead of messing with the rust I simply re-skinned the whole car. I like the C3 body style and the car was very resonable priced (3K). It needs a bit of work but I drive it everywhere I will get some pics posted soon. My friends (Ford folks) say I have turned to the dark side.
