did you have all the nuts and bumper retainers still on your car? i will have to do this soon as well and will have to buy new retainers. Also did anyone answer if it was easier to get the bumper painted on or off that car... thanks

Chstitans42,
The only thing I had to replace was the bumper cover. I used all of the old nuts and retainers over again with no problems. When I took the old bumper cover off I put all of the hardware in oil and left it soaking there until I was ready to install the new one.
Nobody ever answered my question if I should have the bumper cover painted first, but I saw from pictures that other guys had it installed and there was no paint on them so I did the same. I hope to bring mine to an auto body shop this week. I’ll let you know what he says.

After reading this thread....I may go with the OEM front for my 74.....no choice for the rear...Toledo truFlex.
Does anyone have the GM part # for the 74 OEM?
Go on GM parts direct and you will find it there. The part number is 6263597 at a cost of 458.11 plus shipping and handling, which was just over $100.00 to me in NY. All in all it was still cheaper then anywhere else that I could find.
