Default Dash pad installation

I tried search but I couldn't find anything on the procedure to remove and replace the upper dash pad. Thought I saw it awhile back but oh well.

Can someone help me out with some instruction please ? 1976 coupe

Thanks

Wait one. There is probably a bolt or two underneath the pad holding it to the reinforcement bar provided a previous owner didn't leave them out at some point in the past. Remove the passenger's side lower dash pad and you will probably see them.

But do not forget, the pad has two clips on the underside near the windshield. The clip retainers are held on with a machine screw with a small hex nut head. Loosen the hex nut on each clip and slide the dash back towards you to release it.

Oops Mikes right.Sorry ! The 2 screws are at the ends of the defroster duct grill and then back towards the rear of car about an inch. There are also 3 screws coming up through the center cluster at the wiper switch. You might be able to get to the 2 screws Mike mentioned by removing the wiper switch and center duct assembly.

Warm the dash pad w/ hairdryer, it bends easier...makes the removal less painfull and you'll have a better change to get it out w/o cracking it.

Cheers,
