The thing that makes the '76 hood different from '73-'75 was lack of cowl induction. A '73-'75 hood should work. In '77 they changed some latches & springs so I'm not sure if it would bolt right up.........
...I believe the '76 hood(out of the '76-'79 hoods)was the ONLY year that it was "non-ducted", yet still had the grille opening at the end of the "power bulge". Not sure on the latch set up though.
yes, '73 to '82 will bolt on to any C3 but you run into problems with the latches and supports, corners. But nothing insurmountable.
"Somebody" should do a paper on the C3 hoods, the different ones available, how they vary, etc. It's on my to-do list. Way down there.

What about alot of gues with 68-72s that switch to the 73+ style, is that a pain in the rear?
That "just" requires removing the wiper door. I have no idea how difficult that is. But I also believe that's where the corners start having a bit different shape, up by the windsheld.
