i heard a while ago when gm made that Cadillac v12 concept they made it a v12 because they were having problems snapping crank shafts from the vibrations of the v10 so they just went to a v12. i don't know how true that is though
Just read where Cadillac is going to produce the Cadillac Sixteen (the show car with a V-16) but with a V12. Will basicly be a pair of 3.6L V-6 engines built end to end. Estimated to be around 600 hp and 540 lbs.ft. No date yet on release.

I used to work for one of GM's main suppliers and read an article in Hot Rod mag about a prototype they made using a Tahoe with a V10. They had to stamp longer fenders in order to stuff everything into it. A couple of the engineers snuck it out a couple of times and drove it to local cruse-ins, popped the hood and watched the double takes from people as they passed and then had to come back for a second look.
