Default 79 L82 bulb replacement

I want to replace all of the bulbs in the interior of my 79 L82 (speedo, tach, gauges) and would like to know the best way to do it? If anybody has any tips or good advice I would greatly appreciate it. This is my first Vette and I don't want to mess it up.

Remove the lower dash panel and drop the steering column. Then you'll have plenty of room to remove the the gauge panels. You will need to remove the speedometer cable. It's a blind spot, so you'll need to reach from underneath and feel for the tabs in back of the guage, squeeze and pull the cable out.

Good luck. Do it once and you can chnage a bulb out within 45 min.

I agree, you need to remove the gauge cluster to get to the back of the gauge panel. The dome light, glove box and footwell lights are all just a remove bulb and replace operation.

I did mine a couple of years ago and if my memory serves me right I believe it takes about twenty eight bulbs. That is for the dash and centre console.
