OT automatic shifter question

I am trying to get a Hurst V-Matic working on a 1968 Camaro. I am having a problem with the netural saftey switch. It is wired with two purple wires to the shifter netural switch. I get nothing when I turn the key. If I bypass the switch by connecting the two purple wires the car will start but no saftey swirch. I am gettin 11.47 volts to the switch but only 8.5 volts out of the switch. I am thinking maybe to much power for a micro switch??? Any ideas..

Sounds like the switch may be dad. Usually a microswitch should be good for at least 10 amps and that start circuit won't be anything like that.

sounds to me like the switch is either not aligned properly or is broken,can you see any adjustment screws onthe switch?

No I dont see any adjustment screws. Im thinking the switch is bad. Ill order a new one this week....
