wassup guys!.. havent been here in a while.. busy fixin the monster and been on that forum alot lately.. anyways.. i need new tires for my vette and i came across some used nascar circle track tires on ebay.. they're 27x10x15r.. seems like a good size to me.. now.. what kinda spacer should i use if any on the front or rear wheels??
people tell me i might need new rims for this but that shouldnt be a biggie since i can get those nascar looking crager wheels for cheap.. but any recommendations on the size of rim and or spacer to use??? i have stock rims right now with 245 60 15 tires... L8er!!

Are you considering slicks on the street?? Not a good idea. Racing tires are too thin to survive all the debris, and the first time you get caught out in the wet you'll wish you never heard of them. How about some Hoosier DOT's instead?
wats the diff?? hoosiers got tread or wat?? educate me
and i sorda did consider them for the street ... but i dont drive the car all that much anymore due to smog issues ... i just thought it would look cool..
...you might want to look at these hoosiers (sport car dot street/track tires)...
i've got them since a couple of months, done on them 500 miles already, when they warm up are sticky and very secure around bends, they dont like tarmac debris and are scaring on wet, i think they're a good compromise for street if you dont need to use the car as a daily driver though...
Bad idea. However if you are intent on pursuing this, just wander over to your local circle track and talk to the late model guys after a race.I'm sure they will give you some of their used Goodyears for free!

These guys have the coolest shop around and specialize in Vettes and Vipers. Ted and the boys will help you pick a tire for your application that will work both ways. The track club I work with (I'm the race director) has a number of members that use Kuhmo DOT race tires with great success, as well as Hoosiers. Once you install 'em, you'll IMEDIATELY find all the other shortcomings of a relatively stock car! Good luck.
