When I started this AM (In Tallahassee, Fl)I had a little less than a 1/4 tank... I drove close to 630 miles (Tally to Orlando to South St. Petersburg & back to Tallahassee) and only bought 25 gal of fuel and ended with just under 1/2 tank???
I can't be getting 25+MPG.... Granted I kept it under 80MPH and it was ALL highway driving but that just seems WAYYYY off
What kind of highway mileage do you get...... when you try to save gas???

Myself and Bullshark won the fuel economy run for our class (1962-1981 Carb- Manual) at Eureka Springs last year, with my 79 L-82 4 speed. We got about 25MPG if I remember right................LT.
Why would that be way off?? You've got a small block right? The new Vettes are getting 30mpg on the highway.
You might be guessing and the amount used when you say 1/2 tank left. A more accurate way would be to fill completely then check mileage only when re-filling completely.
Ok... let me make a short story long
My state of the art fuel level meter registered close to 1/4 tank when I started
My odometer has read the same mileage...
for over 2 years now!!
I finished with more fuel than I started & traveled 630 miles (going by mile markers) on under 25 gal of fuel (how much I bought)!
I'm just really shocked 'cause my origional engine/intake/exhaust with WAY less Hp got @ 15mpg on the Highway
If you think about it, Vettes are not that heavy and once you're up to speed, it doesn't take much HP to keep them rolling. They can actually get pretty good mileage. This is unlike an SUV or something that is heavy and shaped like a brick.
