Taking off in a few minutes to go to Englishtown to watch the big boys run. Only qualifying but the crowds are less and you get to see more. 73jst4fun is meeting me there. Weather is cool so there should be some good runs today.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
FRiday's are the best, no one's there, you can get close, too close as a matter of fact, I was hit by a piece of molten steel ( burnt thru my coat ) after it was fired out of a Nitro Funny car header, I moved back after that, this was the car, you can see how close I was, I could spit on the car

Ok my goof.:o I was watching English town on ESPN this weekend and now realize it a top money race for all the top fuel dragsters, funny cars and pro-stocks. And i watched some great racing, engine blowouts and a mean dragster crash here safely at home.
Well whenever u get the chance and your ready Gordonm please post your results.

The race was great. They were running excellent times as the weather was cool and dry and a slight tail or crosswind. The top fuel cars are just incredible to watch. There was plenty of people there for sure but you can get up close and the atmosphere is a little calmer on qualifying day vs race day.
I hope to get to the track soon but as life would have it many other things are happening right now. I have not even fired my car up in the last 4 weeks. I really need to get it aligned by a machine. I have it close and it tracks straight but I need a better alignment. I'll post something as soon as I have it.
Panic: I do have the dyno run on video and sound with it. I posted it a while ago but you may have missed it. I hope to get a run on video also.
My friend (Gene Terenzio) was racing, in the Pro Mod class, his first real big race (orange 68 camaro with like blue spiderwebs on it) got through to the second round of elimantions on Sunday..will be on ESPN this coming weekend I believe.

Guys if you have never been to an NHRA Top Fuel event you need to try and make it out once. Friday is always a good day to go. The tickets are easier to get and cost less. The access to the racers and cars is incredible. You will not be disappointed. I have been to Bristol twice and hope to go again this year when the rescheduled event happens.

Eddie70, you probably already know, but the rescheduled event is next weekend, July 6-8. If you need tickets for Friday night, send me a PM - I have a couple extra I need to get rid of.
