i enjoy cornering more than i enjoy racing, how well equiped is the ol 74 for such activity? i know the weight distributation should be, idealy, 50/50 between the front and rear tires, i guess what im getting at is, is this in any way bad for the car?
I drive my '73 daily & I LOVE cornering... U-turns have become an art in It's self, Roundabouts and tight Freeway ramps are where I play the most!!!
Other than blown shocks I've done NO damage to my car in close to 3 years
Most other cars from the same era seem to fall in 3 catagories Muscle Cars big engines in big cars Built for speed Sports cars smaller engines in smaller cars built for cornering Corvettes Little cars with bigger engines built for the best of both worlds!!!
If ya got the HD suspension then its a real treat! My dad's 73 has the HD and that thing will out corner my white 73 anyday! About a year ago, I took a 30mph turn at a little over 60 until my dad reminded me that the tires were 8 years old and that I shouldnt risk blowing a tire! However the car showed no signs of sliding or anything!
