72 Lt-1
A guy in the area is selling a 72 LT-1. The guy says it has an automatic trans w. A/C. Is this possible? I didn't think LT-1's came in Auto? Let me know if you can, Thanks as always, stay safe, john

...they didn't have automatics with the LT-1. I think 244 of them in '72 did have A/C if I have my number right.

...come to think of it though, doesn't mean that someone could install an automatic in a true LT-1 with A/C. Seems to me, I thought there was talk here of someone that was either installing an automatic in a true LT-1 w/AC car or something to that affect in the last year or so??? Maybe others will respond or remember???

In "Birthplace of Legends", a book detailing the history of the St. Louis Assembly Plant, a superviser at the factory during that time wanted an LT1 automatic for his wife. So, he manipulated the assembly line and built one. (Probably not that difficult during those days.) As the story goes, he was caught and fired. And the car, well??
