How do I verify Numbers matching
Hello everyone, I currently own a 1979 L82 Vette and unfortunately I may need to see this car due to an upcoming job transfer. What I want to find out is how do I verify if the engine/transmission match my car. It seems to be a question I get asked all the time if the numbers match. How do I verify this? Where are the serial numbers located? Thank you...Marty

VIN plate on driver's side windshield post, last 6 or so numbers were stamped onto a pad on the pass side front of the engine block, just in front of the cylinder head, some other numbers are stamped on there as well.
Also, on one side of the trans or the other is a flat pad where the same number should appear.
