...L-82 was an "optional" motor from 1973 to 1980. It was the only optional motor after the 454ci motor was last used for 1974 Corvettes.

i am looking at this 70 and it has no motor, how can i tell what it had in it? if the owner does not know what it had. can I tell by vin#? or are there any other number on the tag that would tell me if this car was a high hp car or not.
