My old L48 held the oil pressure at 20lbs then would go up to 40 & 50lbs. My new motor drops to 10lbs at idle or below and runs at 40lbs steady.
Does this sound normal to you guys. I've never seen oil pressure drop so low at idle. I'm running 10w30 VR-1 for the first 500 mile break-in would that make the difference. On my old L48 I ran 10w40 GTX

Are you sure its not the sending unit? seems a littel on the low side to me
I am guessing you dont have the mechanical Oil pressure guage? One thing I did was to buy a cheepo generic guage, (like 14 bucks) hook it up and compare the results to my stock guage. Once i replaced the lines, they read dead on and I drive with much more confidence
worth a try
