I have a Hydroboost on an RV, it stops fine the first stop or two then the pedal gets very hard.
I've replaced the booster, that helped.
I redone the brakes with good pads, also helps.
Only thing left is the power steering pump?
Would the pump loose pressure when it warms up?
The power steering BTW feels just fine...
It sounds to me like the Hydro unit itself is malfunctioning. Maybe, and I don't know the full anatomy, but there may be a valve or something to bleed off excess pressure past what the accumulator holds. If that bleed off isn't happening then it may be keeping the system pressurized.
Well, I am no expert on these things yet. But as I recall the gas canister is supposed to supply brake power for about 3 applications. So, if your pedal gets hard after 2 or 3 applications, it sounds like your not getting High Pressure to the booster (if it works). If you shut it down, give it a few minutes and fire it up again does it stop ok 2 or 3 more times? Is there a kink in a line? Return line from the booster is good, not stopped up?
