I've always loved 80-82 vettes. I know they didn't make convertibles during those years, but I remember a couple of years ago I saw an 81 custom corvette convertible that merlins body shop here in enid,ok had built. I loved that car. I was just wondering if anyone else had turned their 80-82 into a convertible. Would love to see pictures.

It's been done here a few times, check the forum archives. The "Search!" sticky in the tech section will tell you how to get there.
Slowly comming along on mine. I have the deck bonded in and I need suitable hinges for the deck lid.
Nice work, I have seen those deck lid fiberglass sections before but where do you buy the deck hinges, convert top bows and window glass for this conversion?

I haven't bought hinges yet. And at this time I don't plan on having anything but a bikini type cover just in case it rains so I am using the existing glass.
I know the vette hinges for the lid are pricey for what you get so I may try to find an alternative. If I can make a simple j hinge from another car work I will probably go that route. Its going to take a bit of fabrication any way I go.
