Carlisle - Which Hotel?
Where is everyone staying when they go to Carlisle, PA in August? I want to stay within a couple of miles of the fairground. Where is everyone else at? We can all get together and enjoy a cold one after basking in the sun all day long!

Okay, checked ALL of the motels in Carlisle and I can only get a room for Saturday. Does anyone have a spare bed for Friday and Saturday nights? I would cover most of the cost of the hotel room. It's just me and no one else. The Family will drive up one day but not stay. I refuse to drive the Vette back and forth from Maryland each day. Dinner is at my expense!

I stayed in Etters, Pa last year. Twenty eight fairly easy miles away. Good steak house there too. Hotels in Carlisle are at least twice what you pay in outlying communities. There was a Holiday Inn in New Cumberland (20 miles away on the PA turnpike). Parking lot there was solid Corvettes when I drove past. I think some people make their Carlisle hotel reservations a year in advance.
