Default Steering Column Heat

It's a '70 sb about 400 hp with side pipes. Had AC but most parts
gone when I purchased. Question is, after about an hour of driving,
the interior steering column, ww plate, center console are extremely
hot even to touch. I realize these are hot cars but do most people
experience this? Tnx

We all get that to some degree or annother. There are very many threads in here on C3 cockpit heat. Plugging all the holes in the firewall, putting in a cutoff valve in the heater line, insulating the firewall inside and floor are all a start on keeping it cooler. I also highly recommend wrapping the exhaust and ceramic coated headers

Thanks Sixfooter , but I have two cutoff valves, insulated the firewall
and floor, plugged holes, etc. Headers perhaps a future project. Guess
just have to live with it.
