I was wondering if anyone has put power brakes on a 73 or similar?
If so what is the estimated cost and how difficult was it or did you have a mechanic do the work?
Also any remendations to a nearby shop or where to buy the conversion kit?
Also If you happen to have pics of the process please post.
Thanks everyone.
You need a power booster and hose, master cylinder, and different lines to the prop valve. Pretty much a bolt-on swap. I think you have to remove a few bolts on the support, but pretty much a bolt-on.
Per above, you will also need an additional hole in the firewall. Get the AIM for your year, go to J-50 in the Options Section, and take a look at the optional power brake set up. The AIM will list the original part numbers for everything you will need, show you how the parts were assembled at St. Louis, and provide diagrams.

Here you go. Yes the install is pretty straight forward. This system is way better than the vacuum brakes. Much more positive feel. I have had it for a couple of years now and it is still wrking very well. Pins your eyeballs to the windsheild under a light foot.
