A guy in our club has one of those bikes. He has brought it to our show before but I can't seem to find a pic to add. He spent a pretty penny on restoring it and it looks very nice.
Schwinn apparently had a connection with Chevrolet because in the '60s, they had the Stingray. They did a lot of car names on bikes. Orange Crate, after a famous custom hot rod, is another.
Old restored bikes will empty your wallet in a hurry. I remember throwing old balloon tired bikes from the '50s away. At Hershey in the '80s, those same types were $200 - $400 depending on condition.
A guy in our club has a late C1 vette and a bike made in the same year. Somewhere he found a Vette bike rack, and now he takes both to car shows. Its kinda cool to see!!
I've still got my Orange krate 5 speed from when I was a kid.Just like my Vette it gets out and about. When not in use I have it hanging from my computer room celing.
