jdurhan...I got 255/60/15's on 8" ralley wheels that work on my 69. I am getting new wheels/tires here shortly (any day now suppose to arrive) so if you want to test fit a 255/60/15 on your car in the front to see if they rub or not let me know and we can meet up for a quick hour and see how they fit. I live in Sunny Isles so you are not too far away.

My 77 has 255/60R/15s on all four corners, it's never rubbed.

you're 77 is different than our 71's. somewhere mid 70's (don't remember exactly which year) 255's became and option and chevy therefore increased the size of the front wheel wells on ALL models (just in case the customer checked that option).

I've got a 76 with stock rims, am looking at getting the BFGoodrich Radial T/A's. Do I "have" to stay with the 225 70/15's? Or can I upsize on a car built this year?

Thanks!

you can do 245's in the front almost definately. 255's in the rear. you MAY even be able to do 255's in the front but i can't promise that. check out richard prince's c3 guide and see what year the 255's all around were offered as an option. it's right around 76/77 i think. if this option was available for your year, you'd be able to do 255's all around almost certainly.

Another dumb question, but what is the noticable difference between 225s and 245/55's? Visual? Ride? Thanks!!
