Default Acid dipping question

Does anyone know of a shop that could acid dip a frame and bird cage in Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware or Maryland? Thanks.

Check out MetalRehab.com. They clean the frame in an electrolysis tank which is not as nasty on the metal as acid. They are in Dallas but may know of someone similar in your area.

I used Redi-Strip in Allentown a few years back to dip the frame for my 1970 LT-1 coupe. I believe the cost was around $400 and I would say that they did a very good job with my frame... The results were "as advertised."

It's not really an acid bath, but actually a multiple dip process that first removes the rust then protects the bare metal (for a brief period of time). It does an excellent job of removing rust in places that you could never hope to reach by sandblasting, but it doesn't do nearly as good a job as sandblasting at uncovering rust trouble spots or at preparing the metal for paint.

I still believe that it is an excellent process for a car that has a heavily rusted frame although I personally would (and did) follow it up with sandblasting.

Regards,

Are you planning on a complete disassembly of the body in order to have the bird cage dipped?
