Does / did the car have a/c? It looks like one of the control wires for the A/C system....maybe. Put a voltmeter on it and see what it does when you turn the switches on and off.

I think that might be the wire for the thermal switch in the cylinder head. Part of the emission crap!

there is a green wire that goes from that harness to the ac compressor clutch as said. I can't tell from your pic, but does it go to the temp switch in the passenger head? mine is long gone so I don't know what color wire is supposed to be on that.

I think it is the Air compressor clutch wire.

I have another frayed wire that I have no clue what it is. It might be the passenger side thermal switch.

I am trying to find out my fan doesnt work.

Do I need the A/C clutch to make my fan work?

I don't think so because the fan should work for the heater also which does not matter if the Ac clutch is there or not.

OK so we are good there.

There is a dark green wire comming off of a single connector right next to the A/C box. Is that the temperature sensor for the emissions?

So where is a good place to start on the fan?

My Schems say the only white/green wire in the engine compartment is the Headlamp door warning switch wire, goes to 2 switches. Are your hdlp warning switches hooked up? If they are, you get a warning buzzer when you turn on the headlights, but before they deploy fully.

OK I took some pics of my 73

These wires are for the speed control. Hugh speed conects 12volts direct to the blower motor by a relay mounted on the side of the AC box. below the thermal relay

The wires here conect to the blower box below

The green wire from the thermal fuse goes to the compressor
Hope this helps.
