Default 25th anv. $30k? Comments...

Found this on "the e-bay"

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...33858885QQrdZ1

Are 25th Anv. Vettes really going for that much? This one looks pretty clean (newly rebuilt and painted) but is not original (for those that care).

Any comments or thoughts?

For 30K, you can buy a nice 68 - 72 'vette.

I have recently seen a few original 78 pace cars sell for less than that with under 5000 miles on the clock

350 hp and can outrun almost anything on the street.

No way a 78 SA is worth that.

Huh looks like federal emissions equipment is removed. If the car did not come with dual exhaust YOU CAN NOT SWITCH TO DUAL EVEN IF YOU USE TWO CATS. tsk tsk tsk. Also what about the carb and intake? As a dealer they are responsible for selling a car that will pass emissions testing regardless of whether the buyer's area actually tests or not. In fact unless the federal law has changed they are responsible for two years after the sale if something was missing.

Clean 78 $8,500
new paint $1,200
new motor $1,500
emissions nightmare -$1,500

$29k

$9.7k

That is about what I thought... I bought mine for $4k and have almost 10X that in it and have still not done paint or interior.

You have to want to build these cars....not see them as an investment. THat is why my car is not CRS friendly...I wanted to drive not show.

All great comments.
Thanks
