Will a standard height floor jack work on a C3?
My father in law needs an low clearance jack for his C4 and C5.
Will a standard height jack work on a C3 or do I need to go buy a low clearance one?

Depends on what year. My father has a 69 and a regular jack works fine anywhere on the car. I have an 81 with the different front end and lower spoiler than his. I have to jack the car up on the side first to raise the front end enough to get a second jack underneath the front of the car. Kind of a pain when you are in a hurry.

Depends on ride height and whether or not there's sidepipes. Also, "standard" height floor jacks vary. Mine is lowered and has Hookers, but I cured my clearance problems with a couple of mini-ramps made of 2x8's. Just run the car up on them first and there's plenty of room. I like them much better than those stamped steel ramps that are too high and too steep to work anyway. Call it "Bubba" if you will, but it works.

just a note, allways use a piece of wood between the bottom of the jack and the frame,, the corvette frame is thin, for wieght. it WILL dent if you jack it up w/o a wood block between the jack and frame,, just something to consider and add for clearance with yor floor jack. C.
