c3 project advice (need opinions)
I am looking at buying a 80-82 project car, but I have a couple of questions.
1) Is it better to spend 15k on a car that's in good shape or Find a car for $5k that needs a lot of work.
If you're just gonna change pretty much everything about it, why spend 10k grand more on a starter car. As long as the frame of the 5k car isn't rusted, you should be okay. The $10k difference should buy you a lot of fiberglass & frame work. (I think)
I'm trying to stay under $30k total. Even if that means $29999
Here are my plans:
fuel injected zz4
700r4 trans
c6 lemans blue paint or electron blue
new black int w/ custom seats
c5 z06 wheels (18x9.5)
vb&p suspension package w/ lowering springs and bolts
If I'm wrong, Please let me know.

As you are going to dump a load of money into it on the things you mention why not start with a decent foundation. Something with a nice interior and body and lower miles. (Unless you want to do a complete resto on all systems)
There are a lot of 80-82s for sale and you can get something good for under $9,000. But it all depends on the car and how long you are willing to look at stuff around $5,000 to find one in decent shape. Ideally you would find a clean car where everything is good except motor, tranny, or paint. That would save you a little money. One thing for sure is you don't want one with rust issues!
