My new toy...

Car was customized in the late 70's. Has a "disco Velvet" interior and Chrome everywhere (axles, springs, etc, etc.) but other than that it's nearly perfect. Garage kept it's entire life.
Best of all?
9k....
A good friend. I've been after this car for 5 years!
He finally decided that since he really hadn't been driving the Vette, and that he is building a 69 VW bus (Porsche engine, airbagged, tubbed) it was time to let it go.
I got very lucky...
And yes, that velvet crap, even though it's in perfect shape, will be gone pretty dang soon.
Dash pad, door panels, windshield trim, T-top panels, seat covers, carpet, etc. It's all got to go. Not sure if that crap will come off of the original "plastic" like the console, lower dash and other plastic trim or not. Probably have to replace all of that stuff.
But, it's still a deal....

Managed to get that one before it shut off. And then had to wait a bit to load it on the laptop, before it shut down again...
So, more pictures will follow.
From what I've been told, this car was done up as a "Show" car from day one. Very rarely driven. Said to be a 2 owner, as my friend says he recalls his purchase being from the original owner.
I'm hoping that maybe I'll be able to get some more background info from the DMV or some other sources. With such low mileage it would be good to be able to verify some history.
All I know for certain is that someone managed to blow the engine, and it was replaced at 24,760 miles in 1990 (again, I have docs for the GM Goodwrench Service Replacement).
My friend bought it in 1992. Tells me was lucky if he drove it a couple weekends a year. Sat in a basement garage most of the time. Fact is, I had only seen the car out of the garage one time since 1991.
Bottom line? From 1990 to the present it had gone the sum total of 11353 miles until I drove it home.
A little over 650 miles a year since 1990, or 950 miles per year since 1969. That IS low.
But I can understand that happening. My 65 Mustang hasn't been driven more than 300 to 400 per year in the last 6 years... And the Dune Buggy hasn't been driven more than 100 per year in the last 2 years.
