Default Muffler insert options for 4" Hookers

A bit premature, cuz the car is long from being ready, but...I bought a set of Hooker Super Comp headers and sidepipes from a forum member. They have a muffler insert, but dont know what it is. How can I tell which type is in there, and what are my options for tolerable sound levels yet reasonable exhaust flow.

Thanks!

www.spiralturbobaffles.com

Read their test results. They work.

I've got the STS baffles too. Great sound and very little restriction as far as I can tell. I need to get a recording somehow...

I find that it really depends on the rpm. When you really floor it, they're loud. I've got mine drilled out with a 3/8" hole in the caps. However, at cruise with the top down at between 1500 and 2500 rpm, you can have a normal conversation with the passenger or listen to the radio. On the spiralturbobaffle site are measurements in dba of the sound levels with certain engine combinations, but unless you are familiar with the levels, it doesn't mean much. Mines a little quieter than my Harley if that means anything.

I was really surprised and fairly upset too. I thought I wouldn't have to fix my radio because the pipes would be too loud. Now it looks like I'll have to spend some money to get a new sound system...

I had both the spirals and hooker max flow-to loud for me and reverse flow were to quiet and restricted. Dual 2.5 inch with magna flows-perfect
