Hi everbody! looking for some new seats for my 80 . any suggestions would be much appreceated.
I really like the '01 Celica GT seats I put in mine. They are the most comfortable seats I have sat in and they tuck in nicely. Tricky to mount but very nice.

I have the Celica seats like Durango. I only have the driver's installed so far (too damn hot in the garage). I love it, just need to tweak the front/rear tilt on the positioning. Not a very expensive set of seats to be had when you can find them.
They are really comfortable seats. But they do create one hell of a blind spot over the driver's left shoulder.
I went with factory replacements from Al Knock. They're leather and I like the fact that they keep the stock look. They even installed them at Bloomington Gold. If you want to keep the factory look, I would recommend them.
I have the celica seats also and was wondering how other people ended up mounting them....Any ideas in this area...sorry if this is a high jack just pm if you have info.

I left the second retractor idea out and decided I'll make plates to cover the floor pockets and mount the fourth leg of the tracks to that plate.
Other than that it's just a matter of getting the feet where you want them and drilling your holes. Use large washers or weld plates to the floor to bolt to so it's structurally sound.
If I recall correctly you can use the inner bolt holes and just drill new outer holes.

To start with, I knocked the rear brackets off of the tracks. Then I used 1/8" thick 2" wide steel stock and cut a set of plates that welded to the rear of the tracks, they have holes drilled in them to use the stock holes in the rear. The front outside bracket lines up to the stock hole. The inside front mount I enlarged the hole on the stock bracket. Keep in mind, I've only mounted the drivers side.
The passenger side will require three brackets welded to the track.
Forgot to add, you can not bolt the tracks to the plates. There's not enough clearance for a bolt head inside the track. They must be welded on.
I bolted the tracks right to the floor, I wanted to get the most head room possible. I cut the tops of the seat tracks at the corners so that I could slip the bolts in.

That's what I'm doing. Tracks have lots of room inside them.
A few have used Corbeau A4 seats as well. You can get them with tracks and all. Search the posts for them and you will find some install info and some pics. I'm thinking I might use them myself.
Can't beat these for the price. http://shophyperformance.com/cgi-bin/hp/001424.html
They are wider across the shoulders than Corbeau A4's and half the price.
Not much good if you are over 5'10" though as the base is a bit higher than the stock seats.
