Hello Fellow Vetteheads:
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to either do or get the headlights to aim properly? Presently the dims are way to far right and shine on the edge line of the road and the brights appear to be off as well. Thank You All in Advance.
You'll have to take off the headlight shrouds by removing the two side screws. Under each assembly is a main screw that will move the entire assembly up and down. Get that to where the top of the panel sits flush with the nose of the car. Then, use the two spring loaded adjustment screws to aim the bulbs horizontally or vertically. Park the car nosed to a wall at night and turn on the headlights to test their aim and symmetry.
When I aimed mine. I took my truck which was never in a accident so headlights have proper aim from factory. Parked truck 20 feet away from wall and marked locations on wall. I then pulled vette into same lacation as truck and aimed headlights to match truck. By turning the headlight aiming screws. I did not need to remove surrounds on my 81. There are indents in the surround to make lamp adjustments. I then parked the car on the street (Level) and made even more adjustments to get the pattern of light I wanted. Then I adjusted brights to the pattern I wanted.
Know one flashes brights at me while driving, and pattern is wide and far.
