I have a ways to go before I do this but I am wondering if the vinyl paint that different companies have is a viable low cost option. It is offered in both spray and quarts.
I have what appear to be original black right and left dash panels for my 68. No rips at all. I was wondering if I use the black vinyl paint will it match up to the new door panels and top dash pad, center consoles and seat covers that I will have to buy? Or maybe all I have to do is polish them up a little with some Armour All type product?
SEM automotive interior dye. An automotive paint supplier ought to be able to mix a quart for you to the original color code. Sprays like lacquer and can be used on soft and hard surfaces.

I would not use the SEM to attempt to dye carpet.
Do you know if SEM still makes spray can interior dye? I was told they discontinued putting it in cans.

I still see it at my local O'Reilly's, but it could be old stock. Many paint stores can fix you up with an aerosol-type hand-spray system in whatever kind of paint you want.
From: Ville de la Baie Quebec. A winner is just a loser who tried again.
Sem trim Black #39143,,, its for exterior trim components but works very well on interior vinyl. It has an excellent reputation on many car enthousiasts in my local area.
Its a semi-gloss black that adhers very well on de-greased, de-armourall vinyl.
Sounds like it's worth a try.
Ecklers does sell the stuff in quarts and in spray cans. Not much money, maybe I'll give it or the Sems stuff a try on some vinyl, other than a Vette part, and see how it matches up.
I've used the spray from MidAmerica. $9.50? Red Firethorn. Perfect match. Used it on the backs of the seats, carpet, door pull, telecope ring, and pillars. BTW, the pillars were toast at the top, I repaired the pillars with silicone and then squirted them, they look pretty good. This had to be the absolute cheapest repair value I've done.
