Default dull 82 front bumper

I bought an 82 bright blue vette with original paint. Car still shines up nice but the front bumper is a bit faded. Is there something (short of painting the whole car) that I can apply to the bumper to bring back some of the luster and shine? Thanks.

.....i know it sounds extreme, but i think karosene brings out paint lustor, im pretty sure mothers "carnuba" wax has some in it, i know that it took out the dullness of adhesive remover off my truck

Have you tried a fine polish like Meg's Crystal system yet? That would be my first step.

Try compound paste, then polish, then wax. Post pics for us.

I have found that Meguire’s #5 car glaze works pretty good on this type of application...........

Clay the front bumper to get most of the contaminents out. I think Mequires and others offer a clay system. That will get it back. I can tell you if the damage is really bad nothing will work. Repaint will be your only option.

This seems to work don't ask me how.

Aluminum Foil: Briskly scrub rust spots on car bumpers with a piece of crumpled aluminum foil, shiny side up. Also works well on the chrome shafts of golf clubs.

Buff and polish, then wax.

If that doesn't give desired results you can have a shop repaint only the front bumper as opposed to the whole car.
