I tell my tree hugging sister that I drive my Vette and 70 pickup just to cancel out her tree hugging econo box. I also love to mention that I drive the Vette for no reason at all, so it's completely wasteful!
When my wife drives our '71 around town, I always ask her if she feels bad because all these people are driving around in their econocrackerboxes...............she just smiles. (This is a woman who takes a break just to go out to the garage to smell the car)!

Also, we put so few miles on a yearly basis that the contribution to global warming is very small compared to China & India. Their cars have no smog equipment!
Ya!Ya!Ya! I get that all the time. I own a big a$$ $uburban and a '70 corvette. You get " what kinda gas milage you get in that thing?" 'Why would you buy something like that?" bla bla bla "The only reason I bought something like that is because I wanted it!"
I was in an In & Out Burger drivethrough several years ago infront of this yuppie lookin guy in his convertible Saab. Sitting there at idle with the dual exhaust / nice cam lope waiting for my food. The guy puts his top up and rolls up the windows. Whatever I thought. I don't drive what I drive to make anyone else happy. So off I go. About a month later I get a letter from the South Coast Air Quality Management District or AQMD for short. Really business like letter stating that my vehicle was reported for emissions! HA! Sent them the letter back with my note written on the bottom of it which basically told them to save a tree and quit wasting gas by sending the post office out to give a guy with a 1971 smog exempt vehicle a "waste of time and paper".
I bet no one in a Prius or the above mentioned Saab ever got a thumbs up from anyone becuase they like thier car. GD70, that's one of the points I argue all the time. We are such a small fraction of nothing when it comes to pollution.
