Hi...new to this site and just purchased a '76 vette fixer-upper in Indiana..If you are ever in Bowling Green KY check out the Corvette Museum there.I tried but it was closed...anyhow..My steering wheel sits "straight" across when wheels are straight at idle...when I start driving it sits almost 180 degrees out when I am driving straight...What gives???....thanks,Pete
The steering wheel is mechanically connected to your front wheels. Engine on or engine off; it does not make a difference with respect to your steering wheels and front wheels.
This paper will help you to determine if you have a problem and the cause.
Thanks for the quick replies!...No, I am not pulling nobody's chains here (I wish I was)... ....I have the "dreaded Vega" type steering wheel and I drove it in to work today...the straight bars across the wheel were nearly up and down (a little more to right of center) while driving straight down highway...I appreciate the document and will look into it...I got to the National Corvette Musuem a little after 5 PM...and people walking out said they just closed...Maybe they were "yanking my chain" ......Thanks again,Pete
