Well I've gone and done it. Bought a '77 about two weeks ago and of course I had to find a good forum for help. The exterior on the car is in decent shape, with the two bumpers being the worst parts. I've taken out most of the interior to either re-dye or replace. The car is a '77 w/ an L-48 and Turbo 350. Won't win any races, that's for sure...

I've already posted in the WTB forum. Anyone interested in the ground effects and spoiler on this thing? Not really my taste...

This is my first 'Vette, but my second restoration attempt. Since I've bought it I've already replaced the tires, door locks, speedometer cable, carbuerator, and fluids. This week I'll be changing out the ignition, a power window switch, and will be putting a new turn signal switch in. Also needs some headlight vacuum relays...

Funny you should ask... everyone else has! The previous owner recently replaced everything, and when the wheels were off I had a look. Everything looks good, and it stops pretty quickly too.

Are you sure you need the headlight relays? I say that because I just bought 2 for my 79 and it turns out all I need was a seal kit for the acutators to get mine working (see my post about headlight help). I'm glad you're loosing the spoiler and the ground effects, they're definitely not to my taste either. Nice looking car otherwise.

Welcome to another Texas Vette owner. You will have lots of fun/frustrations & a smaller bank account.

BTW, that factory in your avatar looks like a ruin outside of London.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I've got another project that will be occupying my time here pretty soon: a 1973 Camaro RS. It'll be out of paint jail within three weeks, so I'll be pretty busy putting it all back together. I'm also a member on NastyZ28.com for those who are also Camaro owners... I've got plans for the Corvette, but it'll have to wait until the Camaro is done. Just trying to make it a little more comfortable and presentable.

BTW, the image on my avitar is actually Battersea Power Station. The avatar is Pink Floyd's 'Animals' album cover.

Also, I know one relay needs to be replaced because one of the nozzles that the middle (yellow) hose plugs into broke off in my hand the other day. I thought about just rebuilding them, but figured I'd just go ahead and replace them.

Can't wait to tap into the knowledge here. Thanks again!
