1970 Lt-1 Radiator Question.
Bullshark
The 7-blade fan is the incorrect fan for the car, and when I acquired the car I noticed it was installed backward... Runs cooler now that it's been turned around!

i need the all copper, cap on top, radiator.

Brass radiators were not dated coded. They had a metal clip/tag on the passenger side with a broadcast code in 5/8" letters. I think MJ was manual and MI was auto, but that's going by memory. You can re-core these radiators but most radiator shops replace the core with an imported core that uses the wrong upper and lower channels and it's a dead give-a-away replacement. The upper channels are an open U shape and collect all kinds of junk in there. The factory radiator cores used a channel often referred to as "hat channels". You can retain this feature by using one of our replacement copper cores.

Just take the new core and your old radiator to a local rad shop and have the end tanks transfered. If the end tanks are dented, you can sweat these off yourself prior to taking the parts in. You can work out the dents and clean them up most of the time. Small pin holes can be repaired with silver solder by the rad shop. If the end tanks are totally gone, you can use the ones we make for 66-67 BB. They aren't exactly the same, but you can make them right by filling in the left side drain.
With all that said, I would not do any of the above. Why?
1. Aluminum radiators cool way better 2. Radiators do not draw a lot of attention in judging and even the wrong one isn't going to change the outcome. It's a very low point deduct and the extra cooling is worth the point deduct the other 364 days of the year. 3. Black paint changes everything. Almost everyone that sees a black radiator thinks it's a copper/brass radiator, so you might actually lose zero points with an aluminum radiator. 4. In the end, an aluminum radiator is going to cost you less. By the time you buy the new core, fix or replace the end tanks, pay the radiator shop to do the soldering, and repaint it, you will have spent more than $500.

if you want to get the radiator coated with the black ice then order this

Painting does NOT reduce the cooling performance
