I saw a while back someone was selling body parts from the molds of the "Corvette Summer" corvette. I have not been able to find them again. Does anyone have any info about this?
Just curious as to why you would want to find them. that thing was fuggly!!! IMHO......
The body shop that painted my car was asked to create another one of those cars. I know it will be at Mid-America's funfest next year. Talk to Brent at Performance Restoration. He can answer your questions
1973 Corvette (from the Corvette Summer movie)
The 1973 Corvette from the Corvette Summer movie has been recreated
by John Debruin. It took 3 years to create the molds for the front and rear ends.
Performance Restorations has been contracted to finish the car with the wild Multi
candy color over metal flake paint job. Only 2 cars were built for the movie. The #2
car exists in the Mid America Corvette museum. The other was totaled out in
Australia and remains there today. Although it was rebuilt it is not the same as the
original. This car will replicate the original #1 car as close as possible. Love it or hate
it, The Corvette Summer movie car is probably the most famous Corvette ever built.
We are proud to be involved with the project. Check back for photos & updates..
Who cares if you don't like it. 73vette-red wanted to know where to find some parts and the replies he gets are What happened to "It's your car, do what you want"
The corvette from Corvette Summer is an icon. I'm sure there are many people here that remember watching it as a small kid and thinking "I'm gonna own a corvette"

Before my time. I dont pretend to understand the 70's but the big thing back then seemed to be rather radical mods. What ever floats your boat and hey its your car so do what you want. The only thing that I would take into concederation is that when you start to do any radical mods you spend alot of $$$ and you really narrow the potential pool of buyers if you ever need to sell it. The result is you might not be able to demand a high price to try and recop most of your investment. If you already have taken this into consideration and still want to do it, go for it.

I remember watching it as a teenager and thinking "I just threw up in my mouth a little bit". It was an icon BEFORE it got violated.
Do you know the real story behind that car? It started out as the best looking and most athletic car in car high school. It left for Hollywood and got mixed up with a low-budget crowd. What started out as a routine nose job turned into major rhinoceros-plasty. After an especially intense night of Hollywood partying, it awoke the next morning sporting those nasty tatoos. Such a waste....
Those body parts are available in Hell. Ask for Satan at the parts counter. Tell him you want to humiliate a Corvette. Satan will chuckle as he gives you the parts and steals your soul!! Ask yourself - is it really worth it?

But hey, it's your car. Do what you want with it!
Good answer.
