I was just wondering what dictates which side exhaust a C3 has. I have seen the one with headers to a pipe, and the straight pipe, and then there is just the rear dump. Can anyone clairfy this for me? Thanks...and I love this forum (new member)...cant wait to get a C3! Thanks all!

The side exhaust in the pictures taken of my '73 Coupe below is the Chevrolet Factory Side exhaust for 1969 Model Corvettes.
As I remember, '69 was the only year with the side pipe option on C3s from the factory. They look so good though, that a lot of people put them on other models.

You are right. I had them on my '69 427-435 Coupe that I purchased back in 1971 at only 2 years old with 11k on the odometer. I also put them on my '72 Coupe in 1974 and my '73 Coupe back in '82 when they were much cheaper then today. Paid $550 for the whole set up from Chevrolet back then in '82 and that was when the whole set up was almost double the price of what I paid in the early 70's.
