My current and very probably stock '79 iron manifold is up for replacement, with my new heads and all. I need to make sure the new EPS will fit when using the stock airfilter setup, but I can't seem to find any info on this intake. Checked the AIM for my year, but besides lots of A.I.R. crap very little on the intake.
On the distributor side of the intake it says: "14014433 GM" then below that "13" and then some sort of "X". On the other side the firing order is stated.
I'm unable to take off the carb due to lack of workspace and proper tools (no torquewrench). Anyone have any info on this intake, especially carb deck height? I know the EPS is about 6mm higher then the performer, but... is the performer the same height as this stock intake?
Thanks a million!

Reason: Info added
The first intake listed is the EPS for standard-style heads, with a carb-pad height of 4.230", and nothing in the text says it won't fit a Corvette:
the 2nd intake is the EPS vortec, with a carb-pad height of 4.520", and the text clearly-states, "Will not fit under stock Corvette hood."
I had an Edelbrock Performer EPS under my stock '71 small block hood.....carb was a 600cfm Holley without a spacer and with a 3 inch filter and a drop base air cleaner assembly.......
.....absolutely no problems with clearance, so you should **** in with the extra height on a '79 hood.....
....can't help with info on your stock intake, but of course after you rip it out you'll have plenty of room to measure
Thanks guys! Areyou using the stock airfilter setup? Or drop-down? I know the EPS is about 6mm higher then the performer, but... is the performer the same height as this stock intake?
The Performer 2101 is supposed to be about 1/4" taller than stock.
EPS is about 1/4" taller than Performer 2101.
76-79 med. rise hood:
The 2101 will easily work w/ stock air filter & about 1/4" (+) insulator. The EPS will fit but may not alllow the full height of a 1/4" insulator.

Hey thanks! I actually was about to PM you, seeing all your reactions in the threads my search turned up.
So I need to find out if I have a 1/2" of clearance left or whether or not I can do without the insulator with the aluminum intakle (my guess is no).
Is it safe/wise/advisable to remove the heat insulating liner from the hood? That would give me some additional clearance.
Furthermore: any tips on how to measure the space I have left right now? Perhaps some clay on top of the airfilter?
I suppose you realize the EPS is for square bore carbs.
Lowest point is at front of air cleaner. Insulating liner compresses or could be removed at front.
Some do not run an insulator which could be used, just that a 1/4" one might be too much.
Assuming the 76-79 has not been wrecked, if I wanted to put an EPS on, I would get it & fit it.
